Plan of Salvation...

  A Simple Plan...
God's Plan

God Himself thought up the way we are to be saved before the world began.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before
the world began,

We must be sure to become saved God's way.
2 Peter 1:10
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:

When we do it like God would have us to then we can know we are saved.
1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that
ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the
Son of God.

We must realize we must do something and know we are lost.  Then we can ask to be saved.
Acts 16:30-31
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  And they said,
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house

The Plan was that we all must believe on Jesus Christ and His suffering and dying on Calvary for the sins of the whole world.
2 Corinthians 5:15
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto
themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

The Plan gives us no other way to be saved.
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given
among men, whereby we must be saved.

When we believe in GOD and His plan of salvation, we must repent.
Luke 13:3
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Repentance is to believe in God’s power and plan to save and nothing else.
1 Corinthians 3:11
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

If we will come His way, He gave us a promise.
John 6:37
All that the Father give me shall come to me; and him that come to me I will in no wise
cast out.

So you do the believing, God will do the saving.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of
God:

If we believe that Christ died for us and God had the power to raise Him from the dead, then believe that God has the power to take you to heaven if you will only ask.
Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For
with the heart man believe unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation.

Go Show Yourselves

Luke 17:11-19 (text from verse 14) And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Introduction

1 Kings 18:1-2 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth. 2 And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

I.  We who are saved should show our light.

Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Phillippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Luke 11:34-36 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. 36 If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

II.  We who are saved should show our life.

Luke 8:39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

III. We should show our love for God.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another

Psalm 119:127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

a. should love His day

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

b. should love His Church

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

c. should love His word

1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

d. should love lost people

Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

This Week's
Inspiration

The Gift of Insults

There once lived a great warrior. Though quite old, he still was able to defeat any challenger. His reputation extended far and wide throughout the land and many students gathered to study under him.

One day an infamous young warrior arrived at the village. He was determined to be the first man to defeat the great master. Along with his strength, he had an uncanny ability to spot and exploit any weakness in an opponent. He would wait for his opponent to make the first move, thus revealing a weakness, and then would strike with merciless force and lightning speed. No one had ever lasted with him in a match beyond the first move.

Much against the advice of his concerned students, the old master gladly accepted the young warrior’s challenge. As the two squared off for battle, the young warrior began to hurl insults at the old master. He threw dirt and spit in his face. For hours he verbally assaulted him with every curse and insult known to mankind. But the old warrior merely stood there motionless and calm. Finally, the young warrior exhausted himself. Knowing he was defeated, he left feeling shamed.

Somewhat disappointed that he did not fight the insolent youth, the students gathered around the old master and questioned him. “How could you endure such an indignity? How did you drive him away?”

“If someone comes to give you a gift and you do not receive it,” the master replied, “to whom does the gift belong?”
